HTML mails on the way !

posted Aug 15, 2010, 11:22 PM by Arnaud Dupuis

One of the feature of Kurabu/Association Subscribers Manager 3.3 will be the possibility to send HTML formatted messages.
To do so, the mail window have been quite heavily modified and some sub windows have been added. One of them is the link edition one.
Here is a screenshot of the almost definitive look of this one :

Let's hope you will like it ! If you like adventure, this feature is available from the SVN trunk.

On the road to Association Subscribers Manager / Kurabu 3.3

posted Jul 10, 2010, 4:27 AM by Arnaud Dupuis

The work is in progress for the next release.
Association Subscribers Manager 3.3 will see many improvements : German translation (thanks to Sascha Manns), an HTML mail editor, a plugin system and (if all goes well) the possibility to connect to databases.
This last point require a lot of work to make the base code of Association Subscribers Manager more flexible and more extensible when talking about storage capacities.
I will also slowly incorporate the work done by the KDE Finance Apps group (that might not be ready for 3.3 version though).

The 3.3 release will also see a huge change : Association Subscribers Manager becomes Kurabu (wich means "Club" in Japanese and his pronounce "K(u)labu"), much more easier to spell and say ^_^.

Temporarily unavailable

posted Jun 13, 2010, 3:35 AM by Arnaud Dupuis

Association Subscribers Manager will not receive any updates for some time (2 weeks at worst) because I moved from my old flat to another last week and I don't have internet at my new one yet.
Next release will feature a new HTML enabled mail editor :

I hope to have my internet connection back quickly !

Version 3.2 release delayed

posted Apr 4, 2010, 11:14 AM by Arnaud Dupuis

The release of the 3.2 version of Association Subscribers Manager will be delayed until the 7th of April.
Indeed, for personal reasons I was unable to release this version at the due date and it is likely that I will not be able to do the release before the 7th of April.
On the bright side, the code benefit from some improvements and the tests are good too. Now I need access to some infrastructures that are not close to my hand to release this new version.

Association Subscribers Manager v3.1 new release date

posted Feb 8, 2010, 10:20 PM by Arnaud Dupuis

After a look at the auto-updater issue, I found out that the problem is deeper than I first thought. Mainly built on the QHttp class, this updater's architecture is old and poorly done. I will re-code it before releasing anything.
So the new (estimated) release date is the 22th of February. This date is a maximum and I could release it before if the work is finished and tested earlier.

Version 3.1 release delayed

posted Feb 7, 2010, 10:41 PM by Arnaud Dupuis

Hi,

Due to multiple issues in the auto-updater the the release of version 3.1 of Association Subscribers Manager is delayed at least until tomorrow.
Those issues should be quick to fix but deeper problems are not excluded. In any case you will be kept informed.

New YouTube videos for Association Subscribers Manager

posted Jan 31, 2010, 11:30 PM by Arnaud Dupuis

If you follows Association Subscribers Manager's news on Twitter you already knows it but if you don't, their are new videos about Association Subscribers Manager on Youtube :
  • the first is a video presenting a new feature in Association Subscribers Manager v3.1: custom fields. It is available here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_KKNHj7DOQ
  • the second one is a video that presents many misc features in the 3.x branch of Association Subscribers Manager. Those features that are pretty cool and useful and that you may not know about. The video is available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRbKF62vKfg
Enjoy those videos ! On another point, we are still 7 days from the 3.1 release, yet almost all translations are up-to-date and very few bugs spotted during the beta release are still to correct. I think their will be no delay in this release !

Many thanks in particular to Márcio Moraes (Portuguese Brazilian translation) and Lucian Lupescu (Romanian translation) for the hard work they provided during this week end !

Release dates for the 3.1 version

posted Jan 24, 2010, 3:09 AM by Arnaud Dupuis

The release dates for the 3.1 branch of Association Subscribers Manager have been fixed. It will follow a short release cycle:
  1. 2010-01-25: first beta version (as usual, documentation and translation will not be up-to-date).
  2. 2010-02-01: second beta version (if needed only, unless huge bugs in important features are found, it is unlikely that their will be any second beta version).
  3. 2010-02-08: official release of the 3.1 version.
All those dates (except for the hypothetic second beta) have been added to the road-map's calendar.

The main changes in 3.1 version are :
  • many bugfixes,
  • support for themes,
  • support for custom fields,
  • completely reworked settings system.
Let's make it a very good release !

Help wanted for the upcoming 3.1 release

posted Jan 21, 2010, 10:44 PM by Arnaud Dupuis

Association Subscribers Manager version 3.1 will soon be released. To prepare this event we are in need of contributors.
There is three main fields where contributions would be most valuable :
  • translations : it is the quickest way to make the user experience better.
  • packaging : the more OS/distributions will have packages, the more comfortable user experience will be (Slackware GNU/Linux and OpenSUSE are already on the way).
  • design : so far, the KDE Oxygen icon theme is used by Association Subscribers Manager, it could be nice to have its own icon set.
If you think you can help please let us know ! You can contact the contributor team at assuma-contrib@lists.sourceforge.net do not hesitate !
